Florals & Gin

bloom and wild

Hello strangers! I have been trying my best to get sat down at my laptop and back to writing but I am a busy bunny as per. Seriously, I am so jel of all the kids on their school holidays. Why don't adults get adult holidays?! None of this 'You're allocated a certain number of days a year', no I mean proper long consistent holidays like the summer holidays? Whose with me?! And whilst we're going for it, lets get rid of Mondays too. Whose sick idea was that one?!

Anyways, you know what improves a damp Monday? A beautiful fresh bouquet from Bloom & Wild! I featured them in my last post, 50 shades of pink when my lovely boyfriend spoiled me with their gorgeous 'The Chelsea'.  This time around the kind people at Bloom & Wild have sent me 'The Sofia' consisting of such gorgeous colours and beautiful big lilies.

Aren't they stunning? They arrived so fresh the lilies hadn't even bloomed yet so it's been so wonderful to watch my flowers looking fresher and fresher every day. Bloom & Wild have fast become one of my new favourite brands, everything about them is so refreshing and lovely!

My boyfriend took me to a local village on the outskirts of Manchester called 'Lymm'. We were so fortunate as the weather was so sunny and hot! It was so picturesque I couldn't not share the few photos I took. We walked far down the canal which was surrounded by colourful meadows and forests. It was simply stunning, a bit like an enchanted forest with blossom flowing through the air (yes I speak in fairytale now too). We ended the perfect time in Lymm at a pub called 'The Spread Eagle' which was probably one of the nicest pubs I'd ever been too, from the decor to the staff to the food, everything was just lovely!

We also stumbled across this eye on a tree which was quite frankly creepy. But also gave a Lord Of The Rings kind of vibe to it so we'll settle with it. Kudos to who ever painted an eye on a tree... you big weirdo...

Alas, my parents came back from their holiday on Monday evening and gifted me with the two things I love, gin and chocolate! Spoiled I know! Well they gave me it to share with the boyf but quite frankly I might have it all before the weekend arrives....the chocolate that is, not the gin! Jeeez don't assume I am an alchy! I do love the gin though. Seriously, you can never ever ever have enough gin in your life! I'm a bit obsessed with Hendricks at the moment but I have also spied one called 'Opiher' in Tesco which I am dying to purchase! Well not quite dying, it is £22 so I'm good just admiring it on the shelves for now...

I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of life. But seriously, I MUST know, what is your favourite gin?!

50 Shades Of Pink

bloom and wild flowers
First of all, lads and ladies, this blog post is gonna be so pink. I mean it's going to be like, if Barbie was a blog post, she'd look like this. So much pink. So so so so much pink.

I thought I'd do a little lifestyle update. My favourite blogs are all lifestyle blogs and mostly because of their gorgeous images so I have taken inspiration and thought i'd do one myself. Enjoy the pinkness folks. Like for real, SO MUCH PINK.

Bloom and Wild flowers

So how gorgeous are these flowers? I am a very lucky lady indeed. My wonderful boyfriend very sweetly sent me the most stunning bouquet of flowers for our 6 month anniversary. They are from 'Bloom and Wild' a clever floral delivery company who pride themselves on all their deliveries being able to fit through your letter box. I know, believe it or not but they do (Okay so my postman rocketlaunched them through my open front door at the time but legit, the box does go through the letter box too!).

Having only ever recieved flowers twice in my life (queue ALL BY MYYYYSEEEELF Bright Jones moment), once for my 18th birthday and second for finishing my degree, I was very blown away (AKA having a Disney Fairytale moment). I do think flowers are one of the best gifts a girl can receive and the boyf did more than good with this beautiful bouquet. I always felt Lilies were my favourite flower but I have definitely changed my mind, it's pink roses all the way! I just wish they could last forever. These photos were taken 4 days after receiving them, I mean isn't it amazing they still look so fresh and beautiful?!

Bloom and Wild Roses

I've suddenly got back into reading again and it is doing me the world of good. I used to read a lot but then being a busy bunny and working and socialising and being an adult has me so so so busy and tired and just never finding the time to read. I genuinely can't remember what it feels like to not have dark circles under my eyes and not feel tired. I've decided to change that and focus on reading for at least half an hour every day during the week right before bed. I'm sleeping so much better since doing so. Granted I'm still having nightmares where I get stuck in Velociraptor cages and Chris Pratt wont come and save me no matter how loud I shout, real jerky of you dream Chris Pratt. But apart from that, totally sleeping better.

I've started reading my favourite series of books 'The Secret Dreamworld Of A Shopaholic' by Sophie Kinsella. I'll let you in on a little secret, it was these books that inspired my blog and the tone in which I write in (That and Gossip Girl). Becky Bloomword (the main character) is my spirit animal. We're so alike it's untrue...except I'm not in thousands of pounds of debt for a designer shopping habit...I got student debts in stead. Lame I know.

I'm currently on 'Shopaholic Ties The Knot'. This one is my favourite of the whole series as it is based on New York and there is so much reference to Tiffanys!

The handbag hoarder strikes again! Right before you judge me I made NO purchase of this particular bag. No I didn't rob it either. It is in fact my mums, it's a year old and she hasn't used it all that much due to finding it quite heavy. Me on the other hand find no issue with it and have laid claim to it. Isn't he pretty?

The rose gold finishing on all the attachments is so quaint don't you think? No, before you ask, I still don't own enough handbags. He accompanies Micheal Kors and Kate Spade on my floor by my bed. (I REALLY need a handbag closet)

Little Miss Princess has become quite the theme in my life of recent. Once again, my lovely boyf (okay how sick are you of me already for all the gushing. Well tough, gush gush gush) spoiled me to a Little Miss Princess painting from John Lewis. It looks so lovely in my pink and white bedroom. Needless to say the rest of the family have jumped on the bandwagon and my mum came home with this Little Miss Princess mug today. Thanks mum! I love it, it's so sweet. I REALLY want to take it to work just like I REALLY want to buy the Little Miss Princess lunchbox I've seen in John Lewis and take that to work too but I just can't face the pure abuse I'll get for being such a girl.

So much gushing and pink in this blog post, have you thrown up yet?! Fab, I hope you enjoyed it! Now excuse me whilst I occupy my pink bedroom singing girly 90s Britney Spears into a hairbrush whilst dancing like Chandler Bing.

Baby I Am Back To Blogging!

*ahem* I  AM BAAAAACK! Did you miss me?! No don't answer that...

Hi, my name is L.Bel and I am a sloppy blogger and that is okay. Blogging is still my most important hobby and I am so very very disengaged from it. It's not my fault. Okay it is a little I mean I could at least try a bit harder to find time but you wanna know what, I am a modern day working girl and I am tired and that's okay.

Right poor excuses, I owe you better than that. It has been over a month since I blogged. A MONTH?! Yeah and that's rubbish of me. Life just gets y'know, in the way. One minute I am working the next I am trying to find time to see friends and family and then I am spending time with the boyf. Yes Bridget Jones of the internet found Mr Darcy and quite frankly I bet none of you saw that one coming. That is also the cringiest thing I have EVER written on this blog and no doubt he will read this and laugh me out the building. As well as causing you lot to cross off and stop reading. I don't blame you, you can leave now. I am sorry for making you cringe yourself inside out. BUT ANYWAY that's not the point, the point I am trying to make is I HAVE BEEN BUSY. Busy and I have also been quite poorly this year which definitely took a toll on blogging. But I am all better now and I need to force myself back into the routine of blogging.

I thought we could have a catch up, y'know, blogger to reader, what's new with you guys? I've missed you. I've been thinking a lot about you in a none creepy way. I've been thinking about blogging a lot and observing the blog world from my chaotic whirlwind of a life and I came to some revelations about blogging. Just crap I thought 'Oh that's not good' or 'Oh screw it' yknow?

1. It's okay to take a break
Writers block is crap. Writers block and having no time or energy to blog is even crappier. So if you want to take a break that really is okay. I had a fear if I stopped blogging the world would end because my blog is the center of the universe. I joke I joke but I did think taking a break would end The Confessions Of A Professional Drama Queen. But needless to say, my blog still exists and people still engage with it. So the world didn't end. I also saw a few bloggers in a blogger chat (New drinking game, take a shot every time I say blog, bloggers or blogging in this post!) saying how it isn't acceptable to take a blogging break because you'd lose your dedication and wouldn't be a true blogger anymore. I lolled my head off . Believe it or not, there are no rules to blogging and you're your own boss.

2. Comparison is toxic
What's worse when you can't find the way to get back to blogging? Sitting there and watching the rest of the world blog and comparing yourself to them. That's never going to help me feel motivated to blog again. So don't do that.

3. The outside world can be inspirational and destructive
Wow that sounds like quite the heavy title. Let's not get too serious here. Okay so this blog is built on a foundation of brutal honesty, genuine to the point opinion and a learn-to-laugh at yourself tone. This is how my blog has thrived and what it is praised for the most. However when your inspiration comes from the honesty and frankness of your current situations and those situations become lets say 'adult' and 'professional' and therefore you can't blog about them...it puts a real spanner in the works. There are so many things I wish to share with you about myself but now I am an 'adult' an have an 'adult' lifestyle I can't quite do that anymore. How boring is that?! It is here I seek inspiration from the likes of Carrie Bradshaw...yeah I know she's fictional but her honesty captured and inspired to minds of many and she got awesome success in New York and yeah I don't know where I am going with this... OH yeah, basically, sometimes you have to compromise and blogging is a big learning curve between finding inspiration and playing safe. I mean, if you want to blog about Bridget Jones underwear, you do that!

SO anyway if you're still reading this blog post, I mean I don't quite feel it made a point but...lets just say, I am coming back to blogging all guns blazing, Beyonce strutting, Bridget Jonesing and doing it full Drama Queen style. So thank you for sticking with me and brace yourself for some brutally honest blog posts and lots of Bridget Jones underwear because yes I still own Bridget Jones underwear with cats on them....
