The Secret Confession Of The Drama Queens Adventure To New York...

Happy Monday my lovelies! I am in a very chirpy mood today as firstly, I have had a  desperately needed day off. I have managed to sleep past 6am and had the time to finish a cup of tea for the first time in a week! Secondly as I felt I'd earned myself some much needed retail therapy I went shopping and bought myself some new outfits, something I haven't done in a very long time. So all in all, it's been a good day.

This time next week I shall be in New York city and I am quite frankly, mega mega mega mega mega excited. I can barely sit still for more then 30 seconds. I've even laid out all my clothes and make up on my bedroom floor and I have been mentally planning my outfits and hair for each day. Keen right?

I will be doing all the standard tourist things like hitting up Central Park, hiking up the Empire State Building, posing in Times Square and, obviously, spending money I don't have down 5th avenue on a handbag or two (or maybe three...). However I have to admit there are a few not-so-tourist things I want to achieve whilst visiting New York. As I have never set foot in America, everything I have ever learned about the USA has been from american TV shows like Friends, Movies like Sex And The City (bad example) and from the news. There are a few things I want to do or try in New York that I have always wondered about. Here's my list....most of them revolve around food....

1. Eat a Corn Dog. What the hell is a corn dog? Am I even spelling it right? It seems to be a pretty big deal to you guys across the pond so I really want to eat one and find out what the fuss is about.

2. Hail A Cab. I've always wanted to stick my hand out and yell 'Taxi!'. I will attempt to do this on every corner of every street until my dad will probably want to abandon me.

3. Eat a Pop Tart for breakfast. I don't even know what a real pop tart looks like or what you do with it but the name Pop Tart has me sold

4. Drink coffee in a real american coffee shop. You guys love your coffee as much as we brits love our tea. I want to know if there is a major difference in hot beverages over there.

5. Eat in a real American diner. I've always been jealous of American diners. They look so cool and retro. There are a few impersonations dotted around the UK but it's just not the same as the real thing. Come at me food!

6. Eat an American hot dog. So I've had a million hot dogs in my life and I can't really recall an obsession with them but it seems to be a pretty big deal in the USA. A bigger deal then the corn dog. Are they the same thing? Is my mystery solved?!

It is worrying how most of my aims revolve around food...in fact they revolve around food bar 2. But lets face it, I'll be hailing a cab to take me to the nearest diner, hot dog stand or coffee shop. They'll be rolling me home from America....

L.Bel xoxo

P.S. I promise not to stand in Times Square singing 'Empire State Of Mind'....lol jk I'm totally gonna do that.
